What is your first memory of Bnei Akiva?

Oded: Masa Pesach in Shevet Nevatim

Eliya: My first Chodesh Irgun (when we went up to being Nevatim)- I remember talking with Gadi Ezra and him being funny.

 

What did you do in the army/Sherut Leumi?

Oded: Golani 

Eliya: Komonarit in Bnei Akiva

 

Why did you decide to go on Bnei Akiva shlichut?

Oded: The best way to connect to and inspire people outside of Israel 

Eliya: Because I wanted to be actively doing something for Am Israel

 

Tell us your favourite Bnei Akiva of the US and Canada experience?

Oded: IDP shabbaton 

Eliya: Kenes Shlichim- it’s the time when all the idealistic people that came on shlichut get together and laugh about everything.

 

What does Torah V Avodah mean to you?

Oded: The ultimate way of living

Eliya: It’s a way of living

 

What was the one thing that you felt you had bring with you in shlichut?

Oded: קרמבו.

Eliya: My family 😄

 

Most meaningful Zionist/Jewish quote?

Oded: עלה נעלה וירשנו אותה כי יכול נוכל לה

Eliya: בארץ-ישראל קם העם היהודי, בה עוצבה דמותו הרוחנית, הדתית והמדינית, בה חי חיי קוממיות ממלכתית, בה יצר נכסי תרבות לאומיים וכלל-אנושיים והוריש לעולם כולו את ספר הספרים הנצחי.

 

Name the place in Israel you are the most connect to and why?

Oded: Mizpe Yosef bear har bracha. I used to sit there with my boys almost every Friday having ice cream and chatting right above where it all started

Eliya: Bat Yam- that’s where I grew up and where my journey with religion and Bnei Akiva started.
