This week was Chag HaSigd. Chag HaSigd is a traditional Jewish Ethiopian holiday that expresses Ethiopian Jewry’s longing for Zion.
On Sunday we organized a special program at Shaarei Tefilla to learn a bit about the Ethiopian culture and the Sigd holiday. We tasted traditional Ethiopian food, did braids a beaded bracelets, and learned about the history of the Jews of Ethiopia and their journey to Israel.
We had a great time and learned a lot!
